Every Sunday, once your operations is at level 17, you'll begin having swarm Sunday events weekly. This will require you to kill some amount of swarm hostiles, which progressively becomes higher as your ops goes up. It'll max out around g4, and you'll need to kill seventy-five swarm hostiles of any level for the normal SMS, and fifty level 35+. The easiest way to do this is once you have enough ships that can kill swarm, just park them all on spawn spots and kill them as they spawn. The following video shows this strategy:
